"I wish to share my experience with others concerning the last 12 months with my treatment at The Newcastle Nail Laser Centre for my severe and very embarrassing toe nails fungal infection with the new Pin Point Laser.

After many years of using treatments that had not worked - I discovered a remarkable new laser technology treatment being offered at the excellent podiatry treatment centre at Newcastle upon Tyne called The Dow Clinic.

My initial telephone contact with the clinic was with Vanessa Dow - she made the initial process efficient and easy with a choice of appointment dates. I chose to travel from East Yorkshire by train - a pleasing and short journey - enabling me to combine a pleasant day out for treatment and plenty of time for me to enjoy lunch and Newcastle shopping. The treatment did not prevent me from walking at all - I was in no discomfort - enabling me to enjoy the rest of the day.

I arrived at the clinic via a 5 minute drive from the Railway Station. I met Vanessa and Hamish Dow before assessment and treatment commenced. A full and complete assessment of my feet was carried out and a relaxed discussion took place followed by treatment and a full MOT of my feet (which sadly I regret that I have neglected over the years.

The clinic was immaculate and I had confidence from the outset on their standards of hygiene and infection control. The treatment was thorough and included every nail being treated just in case the fungi was present but had not yet manifested itself into nail destruction mode on what appeared to be my healthy toe-nails. The actual laser did not cause me any pain or discomfort - there was an occasional sensation of warmth within the toe being treated but no more than that.

I was given advice on follow up and guidance as to how best to look after my feet and a return appointment was made for 3 months for a check up and removal of material from the nails which had slowly begun to grow normally. I continue to attend for 3 monthly checks ups and monitoring and am very pleased with results.

As I have had the infection for many years I feel that progress over the last 10 months has been made to restore my toe nails back to normality and I expect that given a further 6 months the treatment will have been fully successful with full re-growth of normal nails.

I can honestly say that the Dow Clinic have has been a gem of a find and their Pin Point Laser Treatment."
