Nail problems. These are wide ranging, from simple thickening to gross thickening; highly curved (or involuted) nails, ingrowing toenails, difficult to cut nails and long nails and fungally infected toenails. We aim to return the nail to as best a condition that is possible and as good a state that the nail allows. This work on the nail is approached with a primary sense of practical and medical need but we do our best to allow for aesthetic needs to wherever possible
Corns and callus cause varying degrees of discomfort for the individual. We look to remove the problematic extra skin growth with expertise and technique that causes the minimal discomfort to the patient; leaving the skin in as good a condition as is possible.
Warts (or verrucae) are notoriously difficult to treat, and their presence may be connected to soft tissue injuries, disturbances of an individual’s personal level of stress (which may have a detrimental effect on their immune system and make them more vulnerable to infection) and how their body copes with the physiological impact. At the Dow Clinic we have a variety of clinical techniques we can employ to treat this annoying and on occasion, painful, condition.
Our full Gait Assessments and Biomechanical Evaluations are very thorough. We have a range of superior, digital diagnostic tools to gather evidence of what factors are involved. We have TOG GaitScan pedal forceplate, Silicon Coach digital video analysis software and a treadmill.
By layering the information from our clinical observations and the digitally gathered data, we can offer very comprehensive advice on gait, posture and footwear; we can also use this information as a foundation for the prescription of orthotics from one of the best orthotic manufacturers, The Orthotic Group.
Our orthotics can be of enormous help in managing a wide variety of conditions. They can help in the management of sports injury rehabilitation and sports injury prevention, as well as improving posture and dynamic mechanical function and enhancing musculoskeletal efficiency, thus improving physical performance. Imbalances in the skeletal structure and muscular sequencing during walking and running can lead over time to a variety of uncomfortable conditions. Such as: Heel pain, plantar fasciitis, general foot pain, tired achy legs and feet, neck and back aches, headaches, ankle and knee problems.
Other professional tools we have include Neurostheisiometer and Doplex for neurovascular and diabetic assessments.
