These nails had been damaged by the corrupting affect of the fungus for about 10 years. The Patient, a lady of 60 years of age, had been having routine nail care during that time and had never managed to make the nails look well despite routine chiropody/podiatry care. During this time a variety of antifungal preparations had been used to no significant effect. Her doctor had eventually prescribed oral terbinafine to her, but she was not able to tolerate it for more than a couple of weeks or so as they made her feel unwell and caused abdominal swelling.
The ‘Before’ picture.
The nails were significantly cleaned and prepared for lasing with the PinPointe FootLaser and then all nails thoroughly lased using the best lase protocol. Over the next few months this patient showed remarkable recovery; she was lased one further time merely as a disinfection protocol as by then there was no sign of any retrograde developments.
13 months after the primary treatment the ‘After’ picture is of the nails of the patient showing the scale of the recovery and continued good nail health
